The ghosts of our lost ancient woodlands are rising and we need your help to bring them back to life!
In early July of 2025, communities in Surrey, Essex, Cornwall, Oxfordshire and Calderdale took part in the ‘Ghost Hunt’, calling on Forestry England to restore their local ancient woodlands. Now it’s your turn!

Remember that not all of the woods will be covered in conifers so make sure to find the evergreen plantation.
