Rewild Grouse Moors

Less than 1% of the population owns 50% of the land.

Amongst that 1% are 12 incredibly rich men who are taking us all for fools. We’ve discovered instead of protecting this precious land, these men are playing games with it. They are setting it on fire so they can shoot birds for fun.

If they stop the burn and commit to rewilding at least 50% of their land, we’ll take them out of our game.  If they don’t, we’ll report them to the police for arson.

Play now to uncover the arsonists below, and help us rewild their land.

The twelve cards below reveal twelve men, who own thousands of acres of Britain. They use huge portions of their estates for grouse shooting. Grouse like young heather. So to kill the old heather, they burn peatlands they should be protecting.

As well as being arson, burning peat is bad for the climate. Peat is an important carbon store and a natural flood defence. Instead of setting it on fire for sport it needs safeguarding for our future.

Their land is burned and unearned.  It’s time we returned it for the common good.

If they stop the burn and commit to rewilding at least 50% of their land, we’ll take them out of our game. If not, Wild Card have more mischief up our sleeves.

Stop the Burn

We’ve reported these cards to the police for setting fire to peatlands. Burning land in a climate crisis is wrong. Full stop.

This land is crucial for our common future, but the landed gentry are setting it on fire for fun. The Heather and Grass etc. Burning (England) Regulations 2021 made it illegal to burn peatland that’s over 40cm deep or within a protected conservation area without special permission. But the law is full of loop holes that let our national parks be torched by these men year after year.

We’re here to say the obvious. No more loop holes. No more complicated regulations. Ban all burning of our peatlands now, before it’s too late. That’s why we’ve reported them all to the police for arson to make our point.

These card carrying gentry own so much land it’s easy to hide their crimes and keep getting away with it. But not anymore. We will call out their criminal mismanagement of our lands.

Our message is simple: Stop setting our land on fire, and rewild it!

Or the public will take it back and protect it for the common good.

We’re grassing up these arsonists, in the hopes it might shock some sense into the poor sods. If not we’ll have to take more serious action to protect the land.
